Book a Piano Lesson
Never played before? That's completely fine.
I've been playing piano for over 15 years, and I love helping other people fall in love with it too.
No two students learn the same way, so every lesson I teach is built around you.
I take the time to prepare each session with your goals in mind, and we move at a pace that feels comfortable, not rushed.
Whether you're picking up piano for the first time or you've been playing for years and want to sharpen your skills, this is your space to grow at your own speed.
How I Teach
I like to find what repeats in music, rather than memorising what's different.
That's how I understand music myself, and it's how I teach it too.
Most of my students start with zero experience, and that's exactly where I like to begin. Your first lesson won't touch anything intimidating — it's about getting comfortable at the piano and leaving with something real you can already play.
Your first lesson might cover:
- Getting comfortable and finding a natural hand position
- Finger numbering, so instructions make sense as we go
- Finding your way around the keyboard using the black key pattern
- Playing your first notes and a simple five-finger pattern
- Playing back a short pattern by ear
Everything else — scales, chords, theory, improvisation — comes later, once you're ready for it. No music notation involved either; I teach entirely by ear and pattern, which is how I learned myself.
Already Play? Let's Take It Further
If you've got some experience already, we won't waste time on the basics you've outgrown. Lessons at this level are about applying what you already know in practice, not just collecting more theory.
That might look like:
- Taking concepts you already understand and using them in real playing, not just recognising them
- Working through harder concepts you've been stuck on or avoided
- Building your improvisation so you can create in the moment, not just repeat what you've learned
- Developing your ear further, so you can work things out yourself without needing to be shown every time
